The Heart Behind Our Work

At the Sivan Arul Palmyra Project, our heart lies in empowering women artisans from Sri Lanka’s North and East. Through the craft of Palmyrah weaving, we create opportunities for women to earn a fair income, care for their families, and regain confidence in their future.

What began with a small stall at the Good Market in Colombo 7 has now grown into a community of artisans in Veruhal, Thirukovil, and Vavuniya. Each product they weave carries not just tradition, but also dignity, strength, and hope.

When you choose our Palmyrah products, you are supporting women, preserving heritage, and becoming part of a story that is bigger than a bag — it is about lives being rebuilt, one weave at a time.
